As such, we recognise and accept our duty to providing a safe and healthy working environment (as far as is reasonably practicable) for all our mployees and visitors to our premises as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act 85 of 1993), ISO 45001 and SANS/ISO 14001.

We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting sustainability. We recognize that our operations have the potential to affect the environment, and we strive to continuously improve our practices to protect and preserve it.

This policy outlines our commitment to health, safety and environment, and the responsibilities of all employees and visitors.

Policy Statement

Motocoil Electric is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly working environment for all employees and visitors to our premises. We will achieve this by:

  • Complying with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Taking all reasonably practicable steps to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel on the premises.
  • Identifying and assessing health, safety and environmental hazards in the workplace and implementing controls to reduce or eliminate them.
  • Providing employees and visitors with sufficient training and information on health and safety procedures related to our business activities.
  • Encouraging and supporting employees and visitors to work safely and to report any hazards or incidents.
  • Ensuring the provision and maintenance of plant, equipment and systems of work that are safe.
  • Maintaining safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of equipment and materials within our premises.
  • Providing specific information, instructions, training, and supervision to personnel who have health and safety responsibilities (i.e., a person appointed as a health and safety officer or representative).
  • Raising awareness amongst our employees about environmental issues related to our internal processes and activities and encourage their active participation in our sustainability efforts.
  • Reducing waste generation and promoting recycling and reuse and ensuring proper disposal of all different types of waste.
  • Minimizing our consumption of natural resources (e.g., water and energy) by implementing efficient technologies and practices.
  • Promoting the use of recycled and sustainable materials.
  • Taking Proactive measures to prevent pollution, including the reduction of emissions and the use of environmentally friendly practices.
  • Regularly reviewing and assessing our health, safety, and environmental performance, setting objectives for improvement, and communicating our progress to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Management

    Senior management is responsible for ensuring that this policy is implemented and maintained throughout the company. This includes:

    • Providing adequate resources for health, safety, and environmental protection.
    • Establishing and communicating health, safety and environmental goals and objectives.
    • Monitoring and reviewing the company's health, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Employees and Visitors

    All employees and visitors have a responsibility to work safely and to comply with this policy. This includes:

    • Following all health, safety and environmental procedures and instructions.
    • Using prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Using natural resources efficiently and minimising waste.
    • Reporting any health, safety or environmental hazards or incidents to the person responsible for Heath, Safety and Environment (i.e., a person appointed as a health and safety officer or representative).

Reporting and Investigation

All health and safety accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, including spills, leaks, and releases, must be reported to the health, safety and environmental (HSE) officer immediately. The HSE officer will investigate the incident and take relevant corrective action to prevent it from happening again.
